Beef Larb Lettuce Bowls with Mint

Savory ground beef, toasted rice powder, lime, fish sauce, shallot, chile, and mint.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons fish sauce
  • 2 limes, juiced
  • 1 tablespoon toasted rice powder
  • 1 shallot, thinly sliced
  • 1 red chile, sliced
  • 1 cup fresh mint leaves
  • Butter lettuce leaves
  • Cucumber and cooked rice for serving

Method

  1. Cook beef in a skillet until browned, breaking it into small pieces.
  2. Remove from heat and stir in fish sauce, lime juice, toasted rice powder, shallot, and chile.
  3. Fold in mint leaves while the beef is warm but not steaming.
  4. Spoon into lettuce leaves.
  5. Serve with cucumber and rice.

Fresh Mint Tip

If the beef is too hot, wait one minute before adding mint so the leaves do not blacken.
