Apple Mint Cheddar Galette

A flaky cheddar crust holds sweet apples, honey, lemon, and fresh mint after baking.

Ingredients

  • 1 disk cheddar pie dough
  • 4 apples, thinly sliced
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1/3 cup fresh mint leaves

Method

  1. Heat oven to 400 F and roll dough into a rough circle.
  2. Toss apples with brown sugar, lemon juice, lemon zest, cornstarch, and salt.
  3. Pile apples in the center and fold the dough edges over them.
  4. Brush crust with egg and bake until deep golden.
  5. Drizzle with honey and scatter mint leaves over the warm apples.

Fresh Mint Tip

Add mint after the honey so the leaves stick lightly to the apple filling.
