Crispy Halloumi Mint Lemon Bites

Golden halloumi cubes tossed with lemon, a little honey, chile flakes, and torn mint.

Ingredients

  • 12 ounces halloumi, cut into cubes
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 lemon, zested and juiced
  • 1/3 cup torn fresh mint
  • Pinch of chile flakes
  • Black pepper

Method

  1. Pat halloumi cubes dry.
  2. Sear in olive oil until golden on several sides.
  3. Remove from heat and toss with honey, lemon juice, lemon zest, and chile flakes.
  4. Scatter with torn mint and black pepper.
  5. Serve immediately while the halloumi is crisp.

Fresh Mint Tip

Add mint after the pan comes off the heat so the leaves perfume the cheese without wilting flat.
